About
I am a Brazilian painter, born in 1990.
Largely self-taught, I began painting professionally in 2023, after more than a decade working as a translator and teacher. My practice has evolved since then, though I consider myself a lifelong learner of the craft.
I grew up in Minas Gerais, a region known for its mountainous landscapes, rich cultural traditions, and traces of Portuguese heritage. In my twenties, I attended Universidade Federal de Alfenas, where I earned two degrees in Languages. During my studies, I also practised Zen Buddhism as a monk. These life experiences have deeply shaped who I am and occasionally resurface in my work.
I am currently exploring classical techniques in figurative painting and drawing, while continuing to refine my skill and knowledge.
My studio is based in George, along South Africa’s scenic Garden Route.
